Fineliner drawing exercises

Image
Below are two pages out of my sketchbook. This is me practising my line work and use of fineliners in order to improve my observational drawing skills. I think in future it's important for me to begin using a wider range of fineline sizes. However, for just practising shapes etc. I think this is a good start. I will continue with practiing this kind of drawing exercise.

Transforming and object using different prompts

Image
As part of our second year design module we have been tasked to take 7 identical objects and transform them based indifferent prompts. These are as follows; Subtraction, addition, symmetry, Asymmetry, distortion, fragmentation and lastly abstraction. After I completed the work I chose to draw them in my sketchbook in order to practice my observational drawing skills and drawing one thing in many forms.

Recent observational sketches- using coloured pencil

Image
Below are two recent pages from my sketchbook over the summer. These are done with coloured pencil. This is a material I really enjoy using as I love adding small pops of colour to my observational drawing to make them stand out. The only thing with coloured pencils is that there isn't a lot of fluidity and movement in them. I think next I will try using a fountain pen to see the affect that this gives me and whether I prefer it.
